PUBLIC NOTICE
The public is hereby notified that the Board of Commissioners of Troup County, Georgia, at its regular meeting on October 20, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. approved the first adoption of the following ordinance and at its next regular meeting on November 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. will consider the following ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF TROUP COUNTY UNDER THE HOME RULE PROVISIONS FOR COUNTIES AS SET FORTH IN ARTICLE IX, SECTION II, PARAGRAPH 1 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA OF 1983, AS AMENDED; TO AMEND AN ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA ENTITLED “TROUP COUNTY – BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ROADS AND REVENUES” GA. LAWS 1958, P. 3068, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED BY THE TROUP COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS UNDER THE HOME RULE PROVISIONS FOR COUNTIES BY TROUP COUNTY ORDINANCE NUMBER 2014-03 APPROVED JANUARY 7, 2014 (GA. L. 2014, P. 4341); TO PROVIDE FOR COUNTY ADMINISTRATION THROUGH THE OFFICE AND DUTIES OF THE TROUP COUNTY MANAGER; TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
The meetings will take place at the board’s regular meeting and meeting place, Troup County Government Center, 100 Ridley Avenue, LaGrange, Georgia 30240.
The public is hereby further notified that in order to carry out the provisions of said Ordinance, it is necessary for the Board of Commissioners of Troup County, Georgia to adopt said Ordinance at two consecutive meetings held not less than seven (7) or more than sixty (60) days apart, which Ordinance specifically states the changes to be made to the original Act, and the authority to amend the original Act having been granted pursuant to the Home Rule Provisions for Counties of the Constitution of the State of Georgia of 1983, Article IX, Section II, Paragraph I.
The public is further notified that a copy of the said Ordinance has been filed with the Clerk of Superior Court of Troup County, Georgia, Troup County Government Center, 100 Ridley Avenue, LaGrange, Georgia 30240, and is available for examination and inspection by the public, and the Clerk of the Superior Court will furnish anyone, upon written request, a copy thereof.
