ORDER OF PUBLICATION
Petitioner moves for an order authorizing service on Respondent by publication under O.C.G.A. § 9-11-4(f)(1)(A). The Court has reviewed the motion, the affidavits of due diligence filed May 26, June 18, and July 31, 2026, the exhibits thereto, and the Sheriff’s Entry of Service filed July 24, 2026.
Considered as a whole, the record reflects that Petitioner identified two addresses for Respondent through independent sources, procured a skip trace at his own expense and acted on its result, sought service through the Sheriff at the address that search produced, and contacted a member of Respondent’s family in an effort to learn her whereabouts. The return of July 2, 2026, reflects that Respondent vacated that address more than a year earlier.
The Court finds that Petitioner has pursued the channels of information reasonably available to him and that Respondent cannot, after due diligence, be found within this state. The motion is GRANTED.
The Clerk shall cause notice of this action to be published in the LaGrange Daily News, the newspaper in which the sheriff’s advertisements for Troup County are printed, four times within the 60 days following the filing of this order, with publications at least seven days apart. Petitioner shall deposit the cost of publication.
Respondent’s last known address is 201 Upland Court, LaGrange, Georgia 30240. Within 15 days after this order is filed, the Clerk shall mail to Respondent at that address a copy of the notice, this order, and the petition, and shall enter that action on the pleadings. O.C.G.A. § 9-11-4(f)(1)(C). Proof of publication shall be filed.
