NOTICE OF LOCATION AND DESIGN APPROVAL

Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-2-109 and 32-3-5 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the Location and Design of this project.
The date of location and design approval is: June 4, 2026
This widening project is located in the City of LaGrange in Troup County. The project proposes to add a two-way-left-turn lane (TWLTL) from Vernon Road to Panther Drive along SR 14/109/US 29. The project length is approximately 0.64 mile(s). The existing drainage system is dated and there will be drainage upgrades along the corridor.
The proposed typical section will accommodate the new turn lane by widening to the north side of the existing roadway. This will involve 14 feet of widening only to the north with curb and gutter and an 8-foot shared-use path. To the south will have curb and gutter added, sections of sidewalk that are in disrepair will be replaced with new sidewalk, and driveway aprons where needed will be constructed. The travel lane width will be 11 feet, and the two-way left turn lane width will be 14 feet. The project is also located Land Lots 114 & 115 in Land District 6.
Georgia Department of Transportation would be responsible for acquiring property rights for this project.
Drawings or maps or plats of the proposed project, as approved, are on file and are available for public inspection at the Georgia Department of Transportation:
