NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS 2026

This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Troup County Public Schools, of the Troup County Archives’ intent to destroy the Special Education records of students who were born 2002 and earlier and are no longer receiving Special Education services. These records will be destroyed in accordance with the Georgia Records Act (O.C.G.A. 50-18-99) unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the School System otherwise by June 1, 2026.
Exceptional Education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, moves from the district or completes his or her education program at age 22.
